Charles Weer Goff collection, 1950-1991 (inclusive), 1959-1961 (bulk).

The collection documents Charles Weer Goff's research on the osseous remains of Christopher Columbus and its reception. The papers include correspondence between Goff and colleagues, including Ambassador J. Inchaustegui Cabral and Otto Pikaza, drafts of papers, notes, newspaper and magazine articles, photos of burial sites and of the examination of artifacts in Santo Domingo, and the film "Perception," an interview with Goff in 1960. Topics covered include the general history of Columbus, the history of Columbus' remains, the probable causes of his death, and anthropological and archaeological techniques of dating and blood-typing artifacts.
